Noah Penda has officially signed his first NBA contract with the Orlando Magic. The 20-year-old French forward, selected 32nd overall in the 2025 Draft, has committed to a four-year deal through the « Second-round pick exception », a provision that allows franchises to secure second-round talents while maintaining flexibility.

A progressive contract with measured guarantees

Penda’s contract structure reflects the Magic’s cautious but ambitious strategy. According to HoopsRumors, the deal is worth around $10 million over four years, with the first two seasons guaranteed at $2.3 and $2.4 million respectively. The third year remains non-guaranteed, while the fourth includes a team option, giving Orlando the opportunity to evaluate the player’s progress.

This type of contract, similar to those of Bronny James with the Lakers or Maxime Raynaud with the Kings this season, demonstrates NBA franchises’ willingness to invest in promising second-round prospects. To acquire Penda’s rights, the Magic didn’t hesitate to trade away four second-round picks, showing their strong interest in the former Le Mans player.

Promising statistics from France

After a season in France, Noah Penda arrives in the NBA with solid credentials. In his last season in Betclic Elite, he averaged 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.9 blocks. This versatility and two-way energy impressed the Florida executives, who see him as a potential player to develop.

« Penda will wear number 93 with the Orlando Magic », the Florida franchise announced in their official statement. With this signing, along with those of Tyus Jones and Moe Wagner, Orlando now has 14 players under contract and can wait until training camp to sign their 15th and final roster spot. A measured but ambitious bet on a French player with high potential.
