Nemanja Nedović, another big talent for Monaco?

Nemanja Nedovic (6’4″, 34) will join AS Monaco’s strong backcourt. According to our information, the 2025 EuroLeague finalist is set to announce the arrival of an established guard by the end of the week. According to Serbian media Meridian Sport, the Roca Team’s management has reached an agreement with the former sharpshooter from Malaga (2015-2018), Milan (2018-2020), Panathinaikos Athens (2020-2022), and Red Star Belgrade (for the past three years).
Son of a former professional handball player, Nemanja Nedovic was partly trained in Italy, where his father played, before returning to Serbia and being launched very young by Red Star Belgrade’s professional team. However, the Serbian capital’s club wasn’t at its peak then, and it was in Lithuania, at Lietuvos Rytas, that the Nova Varos native experienced the first season of a long EuroLeague career. Drafted 30th in 2013, this athletic player with recognized technical skills made a detour to the Golden State Warriors, without managing to establish himself in the NBA. Not satisfied with a career spent more in the G-League than across the Atlantic, he then returned to Europe by joining Valencia. He extended his Iberian stay for three seasons, but further south, in Malaga (2015-2018), winning a EuroLeague title along the way.

14.3 points per game in less than 22 minutes in EuroLeague in 2023-2024
Meanwhile given responsibilities with the Serbian national team, with three silver medals (at EuroBasket 2009 at age 18, then at the 2016 Olympics and EuroBasket 2017), Nedovic signed with Milan in 2018 then with Panathinaikos in 2020. His first professional club, Red Star, having regained financial strength, notably thanks to state subsidies, the 2017 EuroCup winner returned there in 2022. A prolific scorer, he averaged 14.3 points in less than 22 minutes in 2023-2024. Less impressive in the previous season (9.2 points on 39.1% shooting and 2.9 assists in less than 19 minutes), he remains a reference at the shooting guard position. Alongside Mike James, Matthew Strazel, Nick Calathes and Jordan Loyd, Nemanja Nedovic will bring strong shooting abilities to the backcourt with a Bosman player status that will certainly be beneficial in Betclic ELITE.
It remains to be seen whether Monaco, which also has numerous wings (Alpha Diallo, Terry Tarpey, Juhann Begarin and Jaron Blossomgame), will want to strengthen its frontcourt which has welcomed Nikola Mirotic and Yoan Makoundou but lost Petr Cornelie and Georgios Papagiannis. Let’s not forget Daniel Theis and Donatas Motiejunas.
