Mikael Jantunen shines in his debut with Fenerbahçe, who wins the 2025 Turkish SuperCup

Fenerbahçe won the 2025 Turkish SuperCup by defeating Besiktas with a score of 85-83. This is the Istanbul club’s first SuperCup title since 2017 and eighth in their history. The victory was secured in the final seconds thanks to Nicolo Melli’s heroic defense.

Mikael Jantunen brilliant in his grand debut

Devon Hall was the most prolific for Fenerbahçe with 23 points on 4/6 from 3-point range, earning the MVP trophy. Wade Baldwin also contributed offensively with 20 points, forming a formidable trio with Jantunen to lead Istanbul’s attack.

A breathtaking finish sealed by Nicolo Melli

Besiktas didn’t give up despite trailing 82-74 with 1 minute and 3 seconds remaining. Led by Devon Dotson, who scored 25 points, and former Monaco player Vitto Brown (16 points), Besiktas players came back to 84-82 with only 7 seconds on the clock.

At 85-82, Fenerbahçe fouled Dotson. The American made the first free throw before intentionally missing the second to grab the rebound and attempt the equalizer. But they hadn’t counted on Nicolo Melli’s defensive alertness, who rose up to block Dotson’s 3-point attempt with two seconds remaining, securing Fenerbahçe’s victory.
