Le Mans Sarthe Basket dominated Limoges (96-66) this Wednesday evening at the Pro Stars tournament in La Baule. Still undefeated in preseason, MSB confirms its excellent team dynamics.

MSB continues its momentum

Le Mans never faltered against Limoges. From the first quarter, Guillaume Vizade’s players set their pace (26-18), relying on their defense and good outside shooting. Trevor Hudgins played the leader again (24 points at 5/7 from 3-point range, 28 evaluation), well supported by Shannon Bogues (13 points) and Lucas Duféal (12 points).

Despite the absence of Ugo Doumbia, who was rested, MSB led throughout the game. At halftime, the gap was already significant (47-36), before the Sarthe team shifted to a higher gear after returning from the locker room (66-42, 25th minute).

Limoges weakened and powerless

Without Mamadou Guissé and Léon Stergar, who are at EuroBasket, as well as Nikola Jovanovic, who is injured, CSP struggled on both ends of the court. Javion Ware (18 points) was one of the few to stay afloat, but Limoges turned the ball over too much and lacked shooting accuracy to compete. Nicolas Lang and his teammates never managed to ignite the game.

Le Mans youth gaining confidence

With a large lead in the final quarter (76-50), Guillaume Vizade gave responsibilities to his young players. Bastien Grasshoff (10 points) and newcomer Lucas Duféal (12 points) stood out, making the most of their playing time.

« They train and we fully consider them. Preseason is an opportunity for them to gain confidence and improve, » emphasized Guillaume Vizade to the Maine Libre after the game.

MSB will continue on Friday in Angers against Cholet, attempting to extend their perfect preseason record.
