The New York Knicks delivered a masterful offensive demonstration by winning 138-89 against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. This crushing victory allows the Knicks to bounce back after their overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers the day before.

Jose Alvarado shines in his new jersey

Jose Alvarado, recently acquired from New Orleans, was the main architect of this victory with 26 points, his personal season high. The guard was particularly accurate from 3-point range with 8 makes on 13 attempts, while adding 5 steals to his tally.

Mikal Bridges also made a major contribution with 22 points, including 19 scored in the first half to set the tone. Karl-Anthony Towns completed this offensive festival with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Mohamed Diawara added 14 points. Jalen Brunson, who scored 40 points against Indiana, settled for 8 points in this lopsided contest.

The 76ers without Joel Embiid

Philadelphia played without their star center Joel Embiid, who was out with right knee soreness. It was his second consecutive absence, having not missed two games in a row since December 19 and 20. This absence was sorely felt against the Knicks’ unleashed offense.

Tyrese Maxey tried to keep Philadelphia afloat with 32 points in three quarters, supported by VJ Edgecombe (14 points) and Dominick Barlow (13 points). But these individual efforts were not enough against the New York offensive machine.

The Knicks took the lead from the start with a scorching 16-4 opening, fueled by 9 points from Bridges. They already led by 30 points at halftime thanks to a remarkable 58% shooting accuracy. The team finished the game with a season-high 41 assists, perfectly illustrating the fluidity of their offensive play.

This defeat represents the lowest offensive total of the season for the 76ers. With this tenth win in twelve games, the Knicks confirm their excellent current form.
