Justin Bibbins expected at JDA Dijon to lead the game

Announced as a priority by Dijon’s sports management, the recruitment of an established point guard is taking shape. According to our information and that of Le Bien Public, Justin Bibbins (5’8″, 29), American point guard well-known in Betclic ELITE, will join JDA Dijon after a convincing season at Sassari in the Italian first division.
An established point guard to take over
Fabien Romeyer, the club’s sports director, was clear in his intentions: « The first point guard will be the foundation of our core. He may or may not know the championship, but he will be dominant. » The profile targeted by JDA perfectly matches Justin Bibbins, who has solid European experience and particularly four full seasons in France.
After starting his professional career in Poland, the Carson (California) native quickly drew attention in the LNB with Élan Béarnais, where he shined alongside Gregor Hrovat. At Nanterre, he confirmed his impact averaging over 15 points and 5 assists per game between 2022 and 2024. His ability to create, break down defenses, and catch fire from 3-point range made him a feared player on elite courts.
Return to France after a season in Italy
In 2024-2025, Bibbins played for Sassari, where he averaged 12.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game in the Italian championship under Nenad Markovic’s leadership early in the season. He also participated in the FIBA Europe Cup (8.8 points and 4.5 assists in 11 games). A complete and experienced profile that should perfectly complement returning guard Axel Julien at Dijon, and potentially ensure the succession of David Holston, whose future remains uncertain. However, a Bibbins-Holston pairing could present potential defensive compatibility issues.
An ambitious JDA in the market
After making a significant financial effort to retain Gregor Hrovat, JDA continues to invest in established players in the French championship. A guarantee that comes at a high price at the start of this offseason. The announced arrival of Justin Bibbins would add to that of Quentin Losser (6’7″, 25), a forward from Hyères-Toulon (Pro B). The Dijon club thus clearly shows its ambitions to regain a prominent place in the championship hierarchy.
