Babacar Mbye (7’0″, 23 years old) will be sidelined until the end of 2025. The Stade Rochelais Basket center, relegated to Elite 2, is suffering from a groin injury. To compensate for this absence, the club is considering signing Jordan Ratton, former Monaco prospect, according to Sud Ouest.

A blow for La Rochelle

Relegated from Betclic ELITE, Stade Rochelais Basket had made Babacar Mbye an important piece of their roster to bounce back in Elite 2. But the Gambian center, injured in the groin, won’t play again until December. This absence is pushing the coastal staff to quickly find a medical replacement.

Jordan Ratton as the solution

According to Sud Ouest, Jordan Ratton (6’8″, 23 years old) is at the top of La Rochelle’s shortlist. A product of Monaco’s youth academy and former U16 and U18 international for the Principality, the power forward can play the 4 position and fill in at the 5.

Stade Rochelais could soon make his arrival official to start the season with a strengthened frontcourt.
