A setback in a high-stakes derby

Arriving in Roanne during the 2024 offseason, the Guadeloupean has gradually established himself as an important piece of the interior rotation. In ELITE 2, the 6’8″ center is averaging 9.9 points and 5.6 rebounds in 16 games this season, providing a consistent presence in the Roanne paint.

His absence comes at a particularly significant time, as this Loire derby against SCABB carries considerable standings implications. Third in the championship with a record of 12 wins and 5 losses, Chorale Roanne Basket could, with a victory, draw level with the losing team from the leaders’ clash between Orléans Loiret Basket and ADA Blois Basket.

A positive momentum to maintain

Without Léopold, Chorale will still need to rely on their generally positive momentum. The Roanne team has won four of their last five games, confirming their status as an upper-table team in an always competitive ELITE 2.

Having come through the Cholet Basket youth academy, the Abymes native had one of his best performances in the first meeting. His team won 79-73 in September, and the interior player recorded 10 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals.

No return date has been announced by the club, which states that an update will be provided later regarding the progress of his injury.
