Dubai Basketball got back on the winning track in emphatic fashion, securing a crucial 87-74 victory over Bayern Munich on the road in the 32nd round of the EuroLeague. After suffering a setback against Partizan, Jurica Golemac’s team delivered when it mattered most, showcasing the depth and talent that has made them competitive in their debut EuroLeague season.

Bacon orchestrates Dubai’s offensive display

Dwayne Bacon was the standout performer for the visitors, putting up 21 points while dishing out six assists to orchestrate Dubai’s balanced attack. The American guard paved the way for his team’s victory with his scoring and playmaking abilities, finding the right balance between creating his own shot and setting up teammates.

Mfiondu Kabengele provided excellent support with 16 points, while Dzanan Musa contributed 11 points to the winning effort. The depth of Dubai’s roster was on full display as Justin Anderson and Bruno Caboclo each added 10 points, giving the team multiple scoring options throughout the contest.

Bayern struggles despite early momentum

Bayern Munich started the game with better energy and managed to build a five-point lead early in the second quarter at 29-24. However, their inability to capitalize on Dubai’s early struggles proved costly. For the home team, Oscar da Silva led the scoring with 12 points, while Justinian Jessup, Isaac Mike, and Andreas Obst each contributed 10 points in the losing effort.

The turning point came when Dubai unleashed a devastating 15-2 run that completely shifted the momentum, giving them a significant 39-31 advantage. Although Bayern managed to stay competitive for portions of the game, Dubai’s quality shone through with another decisive run at the end of the third quarter and beginning of the fourth, extending their lead to 68-51 and effectively sealing the victory.

Dubai did what was necessary to secure the win and now stands with an impressive 17-15 record, keeping their playoff hopes very much alive. In the next round, they will host Panathinaikos in what promises to be another challenging test. Meanwhile, Bayern’s struggles continue as they sit at 13-19 and face an uphill battle to reach the postseason. The German side will travel to face Zalgiris in Kaunas in their next EuroLeague fixture.
