As the 2025-2026 NBA regular season draws to a close, Bogdan Bogdanovic faces persistent rumors about a potential return to Europe. The Serbian national team captain, currently with the Los Angeles Clippers, clarified his position in an interview with RTS correspondent Aleksandar Zigic after the victory against the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum on Sunday.

A difficult season but playoffs in sight

“I see the rumors too,” Bogdan Bogdanovic said, brushing off speculation about a possible summer move to Partizan Belgrade. “It’s nice to see the photos, but do I have to decide now? I’ve got seven games left and the playoffs coming. My focus is here. I’m not thinking about next year or next month.”

At 33, Bogdanovic is navigating a tough ninth NBA season — just 21 appearances, 7.3 points per game — but his priority hasn’t shifted. “I don’t know any more than you do. I’m ready, I’m working, I’m training. The season is what it is. I just want to be in the best shape possible when the playoffs start.”

He also touched on Serbia’s frustrating run at EuroBasket 2025, cut short for him by injury in the opening round. There’s some regret, sure, but no what-if spiral. “I’m sorry for the missed opportunity, but there’s no time to look back. I can’t say we would’ve won gold if I stayed.”

As for the next international cycle under Dusan Alimpijevic, Bogdanovic kept it open — familiar tone, slight edge of realism. “We talk, of course. Before, I always said I’d be there. Now… we’ll see,” he said, smiling. “I’ve always answered the call — maybe I joke a little more about it now with my age.”

The résumé still speaks: 27th pick in 2014, success on both sides of the Atlantic, from early days at Partizan Belgrade to a EuroLeague title with Fenerbahce in 2017. The next chapter? That can wait. Right now, it’s about finishing this one.
