After falling out with Tony, will T.J. Parker coach again in France, in Strasbourg?

After a season as assistant coach at Bayern Munich, will T.J. Parker return as head coach in Betclic ELITE? It’s a possibility. According to our information, the former ASVEL coach is on the shortlist of the Alsatian management to succeed Thomas Drouot, who took over the staff following Laurent Vila’s dismissal in late February. However, extending his stay with the Bavarian club seems more likely.

A now peaceful relationship with Tony Parker?

By coincidence, T.J. Parker was seen alongside Tony Parker this Sunday during Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga (BBL) game, won against Göttingen (74-70). TP, who is ASVEL’s president, had to dismiss T.J. Parker in October 2023 after a poor start to the season for the professional team. Already at odds, the two brothers had to settle their dispute through labor court, though the procedure had some advantages regarding ASVEL. In any case, this communication seems to show a return to normal in their relationship. Could this lead Tony Parker to promote his brother’s skills to Matt Pokora, shareholder and member of SIG’s board?

The trend points toward extension with Bayern Munich

Joining SIG Strasbourg would represent a great opportunity for T.J. Parker: the chance to establish himself as head coach while distancing himself from accusations of family favoritism he faced at ASVEL. While he’s competing with foreign coaches (including one frontrunner) and Julien Cortey, T.J. Parker would reportedly prefer to extend his contract with Bayern Munich until 2027.
