A rare feat in EuroLeague: Fenerbahçe posts a €3.8 million profit for the 2025-2026 season

The 2025-2026 season proved far more fruitful than expected for Fenerbahçe. The Istanbul club’s men’s basketball department officially closed the fiscal year with a profit of 207 million Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately €3.8 million. A financial performance that stands in sharp contrast to the club’s initial projections, as well as the rest of the EuroLeague market, which is heavily loss-making.

These figures were presented at the club’s High Council meeting. According to the official financial report, the basketball department generated 2.192 billion Turkish liras in revenue, the equivalent of approximately €40 million, against expenses totaling 1.985 billion Turkish liras, or roughly €36.2 million.

Revenues well above expectations for the Turkish giant

The most striking aspect of these results remains the considerable gap with the initial budget projections. Fenerbahçe had anticipated revenues of only 1.582 billion Turkish liras, against estimated expenses of 1.896 billion. The club was therefore expecting a loss of 314 million Turkish liras for the 2025-2026 season.

The opposite ultimately occurred. The sharp rise in revenues allowed the club not only to avoid that deficit, but also to generate a net profit. In total, Fenerbahçe records a positive variance of 521 million Turkish liras compared to its projected budget, representing approximately €9.5 million better than anticipated.

A financial trajectory that reflects the growing strength and appeal of the Turkish franchise on the European stage, particularly in EuroLeague, where Fenerbahçe ranks among the most competitive and most followed clubs on the continent, reaching the EuroLeague semi-finals again this season, one year after their title in Dubai. This strong financial health could also give the club considerable room to maneuver when strengthening their roster during upcoming recruitment windows.
