21 points at 7/10 from 3-point range: Evan Fournier leads Olympiacos in Bologna

Olympiacos secured an important victory by winning 97 to 94 against Virtus Bologna on Friday, December 26. This victory allows the Red and Whites to improve their record to 10 wins and 7 losses in EuroLeague and to conclude 2025 ideally, before preparing for the end of the first round against Panathinaikos on January 2.
Coming off the bench, Evan Fournier matched his season-high in EuroLeague points (21), thanks to his 3-point shooting accuracy (7/10). His previous record was from the last game, also 21 points, against ASVEL. This could be the beginning of a rise in form for the French international, after a difficult first part of the season. His teammate and compatriot Frank Ntilikina played his traditional supporting role (2 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists in 21 minutes).
A solid performance marred by a difficult fourth quarter
The Greek team delivered one of their best performances of the season for three quarters. Tyler Dorsey led the offense with 23 points, while Nikola Milutinov (13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists) and Sasha Vezenkov (16 points, 5 rebounds) made decisive contributions.
Alec Peters was particularly effective in the first half with 11 points and 5 rebounds, allowing Olympiacos to take a 9-point lead at halftime (41-50). Evan Fournier hit three of his seven three-pointers in the third quarter alone.

A thrilling finish despite a 17-point lead
After leading by 17 points at the end of the third quarter (60-77), Olympiacos lost their focus in the final ten minutes. Virtus Bologna, led by former Le Mans player Matt Morgan who scored 12 points in three minutes, came back from nowhere to reduce the gap to just 5 points (75-80).
Former Olympiacos player Luca Vildoza kept the Italian team in the game and contributed to Bologna’s spectacular comeback, which closed to within one possession (88-90). In crucial moments, Fournier, Dorsey and Milutinov made the right decisions to avoid a nightmarish turnaround.
This valuable victory allows Olympiacos to prepare in the best conditions for the clash against Panathinaikos at OAKA, in the final game of the first round of EuroLeague.
