Zalgiris defeats Olympiacos 99-94 in thrilling double-overtime EuroLeague battle

Zalgirio Arena witnessed one of the most spectacular games of the EuroLeague season as Zalgiris pulled off a remarkable comeback victory against Olympiacos. Trailing by 11 points in the fourth quarter, Tomas Masiulis’ team refused to surrender and battled their way to a memorable 99-94 triumph after two overtime periods.
The Lithuanian side showed incredible resilience when it mattered most. Despite facing a significant deficit late in regulation, Zalgiris found the energy and determination to force overtime and ultimately secure a crucial victory against one of Europe’s elite teams.

Francisco and Williams-Goss shine in comeback victory
Sylvain Francisco and Nigel Williams-Goss emerged as the heroes for the hosts, each contributing 23 points in the thrilling encounter. Their offensive firepower proved decisive in the extended battle, providing the scoring punch needed to overcome Olympiacos‘ strong performance.
Moses Wright delivered an impressive all-around display with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds, controlling the paint when Zalgiris needed it most. Maodo Lo added 15 valuable points, while Azoulas Tubelis chipped in with 10 points to round out a balanced scoring effort from the home team.
Fournier’s career night not enough for Olympiacos
Despite the defeat, Evan Fournier produced a spectacular individual performance, exploding for 32 points – a new EuroLeague career high – while also grabbing nine rebounds. The French guard’s offensive explosion kept Olympiacos competitive throughout the marathon contest.
Tyrique Jones provided strong support with 14 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, while Tyler Dorsey contributed 16 points, including seven crucial points in overtime. However, Olympiacos was missing key players Sasha Vezenkov and Nikola Milutinov, which proved costly in the extended battle.
The victory moves Zalgiris to a 17-12 record, positioning them to challenge for the sixth spot in the standings. Meanwhile, Olympiacos remains second with an 18-10 record despite the setback, maintaining their strong position in the EuroLeague hierarchy.
