Yves Pons finds another club in Spanish championship

Yves Pons (1.97m, 26 years old) will continue his journey in Liga Endesa. After two seasons at Bàsquet Girona, the French power forward has signed a two-year deal with MoraBanc Andorra. The Andorran club, which announced the arrival this Monday, is banking on his versatility and athletic profile to strengthen their frontcourt.

An athletic addition for Andorra
After playing for Tennessee Volunteers (NCAA) between 2017 and 2021, Yves Pons went on to play for the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA, while also playing with their G-League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle. Returning to Europe in 2022, he joined ASVEL, competing in both Betclic ELITE and EuroLeague, before moving to Girona in summer 2023.
In 2024-2025, hampered by injuries, he played 16 Liga Endesa games with Girona, averaging 5.5 points and 2.7 rebounds in just over 19 minutes per game, shooting 54.2% from 2-point range and 31.7% from 3-point range. While never being a stats-heavy player, the French native is looking to bounce back after a mixed season. His fluctuating performances and long injury layoff didn’t deter Andorra, a Liga Endesa team, from signing him. He is their sixth off-season recruit after Rubén Guerrero, Morris Udeze, Artem Pustovyi and former Boulazac player Aaron Best.
A versatile profile
For Francesc Solana, General Manager of MoraBanc Andorra, his arrival is a blessing: « He’s a player with great potential, already demonstrated in the NBA, EuroLeague, and at Girona. Thanks to his versatility, he can cover multiple positions. With him, we’ll have an athletic profile that we didn’t have before, » he explained in the club’s press release.
An energetic defender, capable of protecting the rim thanks to his impressive vertical leap and hitting three-pointers on catch-and-shoot plays, Pons should quickly find his place in the Andorran system.
