The San Antonio Spurs delivered a true show of force during their road trip to Miami, winning 136-111 against the Heat. At the heart of this remarkable collective performance, Victor Wembanyama once again shined with his impact on both ends of the floor. In just 26 minutes of play, the Alien compiled 26 points on 11/22 shooting, 15 rebounds, 5 blocks and 4 assists.

This victory gives the Spurs their sixth consecutive win and their 22nd victory in the last 24 games. With this result, San Antonio (54-18) also secures home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs and clinches the Southwest division title, their first since the 2016-2017 season.

A Collective Domination Orchestrated by Wembanyama

From the first half, the Spurs took control of the game thanks to deadly shooting accuracy and clear superiority on the boards. Victor Wembanyama was at the heart of this domination, punishing the Heat’s defense in the paint with impressive blocks and constant deterrent presence.

The French center was perfectly supported by his teammates. Stephon Castle (19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists), De’Aaron Fox (14 points, 6 assists) and Dylan Harper (21 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds) provided valuable support on the backcourt. Keldon Johnson, coming off the bench, also shined with 21 points and 6 rebounds, outplaying his competitor for Sixth Man of the Year, Jaime Jaquez Jr.

The second half turned into a nightmare for Miami. The Spurs started the third quarter with a crushing 13-0 run, extending their lead to 30 points. The Heat, suffering their fifth consecutive loss, never found the resources to reverse the trend against a San Antonio team firing on all cylinders.

For Miami, only veterans Tyler Herro (18 points), Bam Adebayo (18 points) and Norman Powell (21 points) managed to impact the scoring, highlighting the offensive struggles of the Florida team. This loss seriously compromises the Heat’s chances of securing a direct playoff berth.
