Belgian forward Toumani Camara put on an exceptional show at the Moda Center on Monday night. With 35 points on 10/12 shooting and a remarkable 9/11 from three-point range, the 25-year-old shattered his previous career-high of 30 points set earlier this season against Philadelphia 76ers.
This historic performance came during the season’s largest victory margin for Portland, who defeated a struggling Nets team 134-99. Brooklyn now extends their losing streak to eight consecutive games and remains in the race for better draft lottery odds with a record of 17 wins and 55 losses.
A Perfect Night from Beyond the Arc for the Belgian
« I felt like Damian Lillard, » Toumani Camara shared in his post-game interview. The forward started his demonstration in the first quarter with seven points, before consistently hitting three-pointers with impressive regularity. He notably made his first eight three-point attempts before missing his ninth try in the final quarter.
« It was enjoyable… The ball moved well and that’s what allowed me to quickly find my rhythm, » the Belgian said with satisfaction. « In this League, everything is about confidence. We experience a lot of ups and downs and we really need to believe in our abilities. »
The evening was all the more symbolic as Camara was honored with commemorative glasses distributed to fans before the game. « The fans helped me a lot, » the forward acknowledged. « They show up every night, regardless of the opponent, regardless of our record or the time of season. It’s a great atmosphere here and I hope to be here for a long time. »

Portland Dominates from Start to Finish
Beyond Camara’s exceptional performance, Portland dominated in every area. Deni Avdija added 18 points while Scoot Henderson compiled 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Donovan Clingan was impressive with 15 rebounds, 7 points and 7 blocks, making life difficult for the Nets’ attackers.
On Brooklyn’s side, Tyson Etienne led the offense with 18 points, followed by Ziaire Williams (16 points) and Josh Minott (15 points). But nothing could contain the Camara hurricane and the inspired Trail Blazers.
« He went through a tougher period where he struggled to make shots, but tonight, they went in, » coach Tiago Splitter noted. « He’s a good player and he does so much for us on defense. Seeing him make his shots and be effective offensively is fantastic. »
