South Sudanese international arrives as reinforcement in Hyères-Toulon

Looking for fresh energy to stabilize its frontcourt, Hyères-Toulon Var Basket has found the missing piece. The ELITE 2 club is signing Chudier Bile (6’7″, 27 years old) as medical replacement for Dutchman Jito Kok, injured and out for a month. Born in Denver, United States, but a South Sudanese international, this versatile player brings his international experience and physical intensity to the Var promoted team.
American college background
Trained in the heart of Colorado, Chudier Bile climbed the ranks of the American circuit with steady progression. After a notable stint at Otero JuCo, he joined NCAA Division I at Northwestern State in 2019-2020 (14 points and 7.5 rebounds average), before truly breaking out during his final college year in Georgetown’s prestigious program (2020-2021).
Under Patrick Ewing’s leadership, he posted solid statistics: 10 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist average in 25 games. Interesting note: he shared the Hoyas’ locker room with Cholet’s Qudus Wahab and Roanne’s Jahvon Blair.
Croatian champion and globe-trotter
After launching his professional career in the G-League with the Greensboro Swarm (Charlotte Hornets affiliate), Bile accumulated formative experiences. He notably discovered the Basketball Africa League (BAL) with ABC Abidjan in 2023 before heading to Europe.
It was in Croatia, with Rijeka, that he took his first steps on the Old Continent between 2023 and 2025. As a key piece of the roster, he averaged 14.5 points and 6.7 rebounds for 13 efficiency in 34 games, winning the Croatian second division championship title in 2024.
First experience expected in France
International with South Sudan — an emerging nation and global sensation in recent years — Chudier Bile arrives in France as a Swiss Army knife. Capable of spacing the floor but also battling in the paint, he comes from a brief stint in Benghazi (Libya) started last October for the Road To BAL 2026 (5.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 17 minutes over 6 games).
« He’s an athletic power forward with a real 3-point shooting threat, explains the club’s general manager, William Dumas. A player who plays with a lot of energy. He won’t revolutionize our game but will provide rotation. With various injuries, we’ve often found ourselves with 7 or 8 pros recently… We’re still without Maxim Eugene and Chudier only has four practices with us. »
At Hyères-Toulon Var Basket, he will have the tough task of quickly adapting to ELITE 2 requirements to help HTV achieve its quick survival objectives. His mobility, energy and rebounding instincts will be valuable assets for the Var coaching staff.
Recruited at the 4 position, American Moses Greenwood will be shifted to the 5 in the frontcourt. In the standings, Hyères-Toulon is 10th in the championship with a record of nine wins and eight losses and will play its next league game away at Rouen this weekend for the 18th round.
Subsequently, Stéphane Dumas’ team, on a roll in late 2025 after the arrival of John Roberson (5’11 », 37 years old) — to the point of contending for playoffs once survival is secured? — will face Quimper, Challans and Aix-Maurienne. A decisive January for the Var club to shape the rest of its season.
