Sixers Suffer Heavy Loss to Blazers to Close Road Trip
The Philadelphia 76ers ended their West Coast trip with a crushing 135-118 defeat against Portland. Missing several key players, the Sixers fell victim to Toumani Camara, who scored 30 points with a 3-point shooting clinic.

Philadelphia 76ers wrapped up their West Coast trip in the roughest way possible, losing 135–118 to the Portland Trail Blazers. The result was a clean snapshot of a team stretched thin, struggling to function with a roster gutted by injuries and late scratches.
Tyrese Maxey carried the Sixers’ offense on his shoulders with 30 points and 4 assists, making 10 of his 21 shot attempts. Kelly Oubre Jr. also contributed with 19 points on 6/13 shooting and 3/5 from 3-point range. However, VJ Edgecombe struggled, finishing with 11 points and 6 rebounds on a meager 3/12 shooting, while also suffering a minor hip injury.
Toumani Camara Shines Against Depleted Sixers
On Portland’s side, Toumani Camara delivered the performance of his life with a remarkable 8/10 from 3-point range and 10/12 overall shooting to match Maxey with 30 points. This exceptional accuracy allowed the Blazers to take control of the game, particularly with an 18-2 run early in the third quarter.

The Sixers had to do without Joel Embiid, who was rested due to his right knee injury management, as well as Dominick Barlow and Quentin Grimes, both last-minute scratches due to illness. This situation forced Nick Nurse to use Kyle Lowry as the eighth man in the rotation and give playing time to MarJon Beauchamp for his first minutes in a Sixers uniform.
Despite an encouraging start to the game and a two-point lead at the end of the first quarter thanks in part to 14 points from Maxey, the Sixers couldn’t resist the Blazers’ collective 3-point shooting accuracy (42.9% in the first half). The situation deteriorated further in the second half, with even Robert Williams III hitting several 3-pointers, pushing the lead to 26 points.
This defeat highlights the limitations of the Sixers’ roster depth after the trade deadline, particularly visible on this evening when Maxey and Edgecombe had to play over 33 minutes each despite the game’s outcome already being decided.
