Player Profile
When Tyus Jones scored 23 points in the 2015 NCAA Championship against Wisconsin, he did more than lead Duke to the national title: he wrote his name into college basketball history by becoming the youngest point guard to win the Most Outstanding Player award at the Final Four.
This exceptional performance crowned an already remarkable journey for the Minnesota native. At Apple Valley High School, Jones had set standards rarely matched, earning three consecutive Player of the Year honors from both the Associated Press and Gatorade in his state. His ability to elevate his teammates' game was already on full display as he led his high school to a state championship, before shining in prestigious all-star events like the McDonald's All-American Game.
His brief stint at Duke confirmed his talent as a natural leader. In a single college season, he guided the Blue Devils to the ultimate prize, showcasing the basketball IQ and composure in clutch moments that would become his trademark in the NBA. Selected in the first round of the 2015 Draft by Cleveland and then traded to Minnesota, Jones returned to his home state to begin a professional career that would take him through Memphis, Washington, Phoenix, and now Orlando.
Recognized as one of the most reliable point guards in the league, Jones has turned his court vision and quiet leadership into lasting assets. With nine NBA seasons under his belt and career earnings approaching $64 million, he continues to embody the consistency and tactical intelligence that have made him a sought-after player for ambitious franchises.
