Player Profile
At just 15 years old, Sviatoslav "Svi" Mykhailiuk became the youngest player in the history of the Ukrainian SuperLeague with Cherkaski Mavpy. This exceptional early talent was only the beginning of a career marked by youth records for the Cherkasy wing.
The son of educators — his mother teaches biology in high school and his father teaches history at university — Mykhailiuk has always combined academic and basketball excellence. After shining at Cherkasy First City Gymnasia high school, he became in 2014 the youngest participant in the prestigious NIKE Hoop Summit, and then the youngest player on the Ukrainian national team at the FIBA World Cup, at just 17 years old.
That same year, despite interest from numerous top American university programs, he chose the University of Kansas. It proved to be a winning choice: the 6'7" shooting forward shattered the Jayhawks' all-time record with 115 three-pointers in a single season, also becoming the youngest player in Big 12 Conference history. His college career culminated with a trip to the NCAA Final Four in 2018.
Selected 47th overall by the Lakers in the 2018 NBA Draft, Mykhailiuk embarked on a professional journey that took him through eight different franchises. Known for his long-range accuracy, this perimeter shooting specialist won the NBA title with the Boston Celtics in 2024, capping a decade of perseverance.
Now wearing Utah Jazz colors, the Ukrainian continues to prove that his early talent was not a flash in the pan, but rather the foundation of a solid NBA career.
