Player Profile

When Leonard Miller stood 6'4" in high school, few could have imagined that a spectacular 18-month growth spurt would transform him into a 6'10" giant, completely redefining his basketball future. This remarkable physical transformation was just one of the many challenges overcome by the young Canadian from Scarborough.

His nomadic academic journey across five different schools, from Bill Crothers Secondary School in Ontario to Wasatch Academy in Utah, reflects a constant pursuit of excellence. But it was a right wrist fracture in 2020 that truly tested his determination, keeping him off the court for several crucial months of his development.

His return was spectacular. At Fort Erie International Academy, Miller established himself as a dominant force, leading his team to the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association title and claiming the league MVP trophy. This performance earned him more than 25 college offers, but the power forward chose a less conventional path.

After declaring for the 2022 NBA Draft and then withdrawing, Miller joined the NBA G League Ignite to sharpen his game at the highest level. This bold strategy paid off: selected 33rd overall by San Antonio and then traded to Minnesota, he now splits time between the Timberwolves and their Iowa affiliate.

With his brother Emanuel also a professional with the Bulls, the Miller family perfectly embodies Canadian basketball excellence. Leonard, a silver medalist with Canada at the 2019 FIBA U16 Americas Championship, continues to write his story between the NBA and G League, armed with his versatility and proven resilience.
