Player Profile

When Kylor Kelley stood 6'1" in high school, few could have imagined he would become one of the most formidable centers of his generation. This remarkable physical transformation, which took him all the way to 7'0", is just the beginning of a story defined by perseverance and constant reinvention.

Born in Logan, Utah, but raised in Gervais, Oregon, Kelley discovered basketball under the guidance of his mother Shandel Howell, who coached him in his youth. Her influence proved decisive, even after his parents' separation forced him to relocate. At Gervais High School, his rapid growth came alongside a statistical explosion: averages of 15.9 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 7.8 blocks per game as a senior, setting several school records in the blocks category.

Despite struggling to break directly into Division I college basketball, Kelley refused to give up. His unconventional academic path took him from Northwest Christian University to Lane Community College, before he ultimately flourished at Oregon State University. There, he became one of the team's most respected defenders, drawing inspiration from Kristaps Porzingis's style of play while developing his own identity on the court.

A graduate with a degree in liberal studies, Kelley then embarked on an international career that took him from the United Kingdom to Denmark, from Canada to Italy. Now a member of Pallacanestro Trieste in Italy's Serie A, he continues to impose his intimidating defensive presence, turning every matchup into a demonstration of his ability to overcome obstacles and adapt to any basketball environment.
