Player Profile
When your father coaches you in high school and you carry the name of Kobe Bryant, the pressure could be overwhelming. For Kobe Brown, it became fuel.
Under the guidance of his father Greg at Lee High School in Alabama, Brown built an impressive statistical profile: 24.1 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists per game as a senior. Those performances earned him First-Team All-State honors twice and the Player of the Year title for the Huntsville region. But it is his adaptability that truly defines his journey.
After changing his mind about his college commitment, switching from Texas A&M to the University of Missouri, Brown underwent a remarkable tactical transformation. The small forward reinvented himself as a power forward while retaining his playmaking skills — a rare versatility that caught the attention of NBA scouts. The experience took on a special dimension during his final two college seasons, when he played alongside his younger brother Kaleb.
Selected 30th overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2023 NBA Draft, Brown made his NBA debut on October 25, 2023. His development takes place between the floors of the big league and the G League, splitting time between the Clippers and their affiliates in Ontario and San Diego.
Named in tribute to Kobe Bryant, whose playing style he admires as much as that of Magic Johnson, Brown embodies this new generation of hybrid players. His successful transition from small forward to versatile big man speaks to a basketball IQ that could make him a valuable asset in the Clippers' rotation.
