Player Profile

When Keion Brooks Jr. left Kentucky after three seasons to join Washington, some saw it as a risky bet. But for this Fort Wayne native, the transfer meant much more than a simple change of school: it was an opportunity to redefine his basketball legacy.

The son of Keion Brooks Sr., a former college player at Wright State, Brooks Jr. grew up in a family where basketball was a common language. In high school, he first made his mark at North Side High School, leading his team to the Class 4A State Championship final, before refining his game at La Lumiere School alongside Isaiah Stewart, a future NBA player.

A five-star recruit by Rivals and 247Sports, Brooks Jr. had his pick among Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan State, and North Carolina. His time with the Wildcats shaped him, but it was at Washington that he truly found his voice, both on and off the court.

Because Brooks Jr. does more than score baskets. A member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches Player Development Coalition, the SEC Leadership Council, and the Council on Racial Equity and Social Justice, he embodies a generation of players who understand their social responsibility. These commitments reflect a maturity rarely seen in an athlete his age.

Having graduated from the University of Washington in 2024, Brooks Jr. has successfully turned his college journey into a springboard for the future. His natural leadership and courageous stances on racial equity issues paint the portrait of a man who will leave his mark on basketball far beyond his personal statistics.
