Player Profile
When JD Davison hit the game-winning three-pointer in the Alabama 2A State Championship, finishing with 34 points and 10 rebounds, the young Calhoun High School guard wrote one of the most memorable chapters in the state's high school basketball history. That clutch performance perfectly captured the raw talent of Jerdarrian Devontae Davison, who has the ability to catch fire when the stakes are at their highest.
Averaging over 30 points per game during his last two high school seasons naturally drew the attention of college recruiters. Davison followed his heart, however, choosing the University of Alabama to stay close to home and family. That decision paid off quickly, as he made a strong impression in the SEC, earning a spot on the All-Freshman Team with a well-rounded stat line of 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.
Confident in his potential, Davison took the leap and entered the 2022 NBA Draft after just one college season. Selected 53rd overall by the Boston Celtics, he began his professional journey on a two-way contract, splitting time between the NBA and the G League with the Maine Celtics. His NBA debut on November 11, 2022 marked the fulfillment of a childhood dream.
Known for his spectacular athleticism and jaw-dropping dunks, Davison convinced the Celtics organization of his steady development. The conversion of his two-way contract to a standard contract in 2025 is a testament to that promising growth and opens up new horizons for this explosive guard.
