Player Profile

When Cody Williams steps onto the court, he carries the legacy of a basketball-loving family and the ambition to forge his own path to excellence. Born in San Luis Obispo and raised in Gilbert, Arizona, this talented forward quickly proved he has the genes for success, following in the footsteps of his older brother Jalen Williams, now a star with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

At Perry High School, Williams wrote the first chapters of his legend by leading his team to two consecutive Class 6A state championships. His senior season will be long remembered: averaging 18.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, and four assists per game, he guided Perry to a near-perfect record of 30 wins and just one loss. This exceptional performance earned him a selection to the prestigious McDonald's All-American Game and the Nike Hoops Summit with Team USA.

A five-star recruit and considered the biggest signing in University of Colorado history, Williams needed only one season to confirm his potential. His averages of 11.9 points and 3.0 rebounds per game earned him a spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team — and, more importantly, a ticket to the NBA. In July 2024, the Utah Jazz bet on his future by selecting him with the tenth pick in the draft.

With already solid international experience, including at the 2023 FIBA U19 World Cup, Williams begins his professional career with the maturity of a veteran and the hunger of a rookie determined to do his family name proud.
