Player Profile
When Rejean "Boogie" Ellis made the bold decision to leave Duke for Memphis in 2019, few could have imagined that this bet on himself would lead him to surpass the symbolic 2,000-point milestone in his college career. This point guard from San Diego turned every transfer into a stepping stone toward excellence.
Nicknamed "Boogie" since childhood, Ellis first made his mark at Memphis over two seasons before joining USC, where he established himself as an undisputed starter. His offensive progression speaks to a rare determination: peaking at 17.7 points per game in his final year, he refined his three-point shooting while developing his court vision and defensive impact.
This constant growth reflects the basketball intelligence and work ethic that define the California native. Despite going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, Ellis never gave up. After participating in the Summer League with Sacramento, he joined the Stockton Kings in the G League before being traded to the Noblesville Boom in early 2025.
This winding journey illustrates the resilience of a versatile point guard who has turned every obstacle into a learning opportunity. Known for his leadership qualities and adaptability, "Boogie" Ellis continues to write his story with the same determination that drove him to leave Duke and carve his own path to professional basketball.
