Player Profile

Growing up in Greensboro, Aaron Wiggins juggled basketball, football, track and field, piano, trombone, theater, and dance. This artistic and athletic versatility helped shape one of the most well-rounded forwards on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After a standout career at Wesleyan Christian Academy, where he earned All-State honors, Wiggins joined the University of Maryland in 2017. There, he refined his three-point shooting and developed his role as an impactful sixth man capable of changing the game off the bench. His ability to adapt and seize his opportunity became his trademark.

Selected 55th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, many might have viewed him as a long-term project. But Wiggins quickly turned his two-way contract into a golden opportunity. As early as February 2022, the Thunder rewarded him with a standard contract, recognizing his immediate value. His rapid rise peaked with a memorable 41-point, 14-rebound performance against Sacramento on February 1, 2025.

That same year, 2025, marked the pinnacle of his journey: Wiggins lifted the NBA championship trophy with Oklahoma City, the ultimate reward for a player who never stopped proving his worth. His contract extension in July 2024 reflected the organization's confidence in him.

From a multi-talented child to an NBA champion forward, Wiggins embodies perseverance and adaptability. At 26, with a title in hand and a confirmed spot in the Thunder's rotation, he is entering his prime years, ready to write the finest chapters of his career.
