Paul Pierce claims the NBA is « jealous » of the Celtics’ success

Despite a recent loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Boston Celtics continue to shine this season. With the return of Jayson Tatum to the lineup, expectations are high for the team, and everything suggests they can emerge as the last team standing in the Eastern Conference.
A constantly underestimated franchise according to Pierce
Despite all of Boston’s success in recent years, the team remains overlooked, with fans constantly pitting Tatum and his star teammate Jaylen Brown against each other. Yet the Celtics continue to find ways to win.
According to franchise legend Paul Pierce, the NBA community is simply « jealous » of the Celtics’ continued success. « I feel like the Boston players don’t get what they deserve, for the most part, » Pierce stated, according to Noa Dalzell of CelticsBlog. « Obviously, Jaylen Brown not being at the Olympics, Tatum not getting the minutes. I always advocate and fight for them… I would be jealous! We have everything. We have the most championships – probably the best sports city in all of America. »
Boston, a dominant sports city
Beyond the Celtics, the Boston region always seems to find ways to win. The Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins are almost always playoff contenders, and the New England Patriots are coming off an unexpected Super Bowl appearance. Add to that the Celtics being Finals contenders every year, and fans will quickly tire of hearing about Boston.
Unfortunately for the region’s detractors, these teams are poised to remain competitive for years, particularly the Celtics, who are well ahead of schedule now that Tatum has returned to the court. The Celtics will resume action Wednesday night when they face the Thunder.
