Pacôme Dadiet, possible trade asset for the Knicks

NBA - According to The Athletic, French forward Pacôme Dadiet could be traded by New York to make room on the roster and integrate Mohamed Diawara, selected in the second round of the 2025 draft.

Drafted late in the first round in 2024, Pacôme Dadiet (6’8″, 20 years old) had a challenging first season in the NBA. Rarely used by Tom Thibodeau (1.5 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 21 appearances), the Frenchman mainly played in the G-League, where he posted impressive statistics (13.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 24 games).

According to journalist James L. Edwards III (The Athletic), the Knicks are considering keeping Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet, despite their non-guaranteed contracts. To integrate them into the roster, a move will be necessary. « The name I hear most often is Pacôme Dadiet. Given his age, size, and profile, he has more market value than Tyler Kolek or Ariel Hukporti. If they want to keep Brogdon and Shamet, trading Dadiet makes the most sense, » explained the journalist.

Mohamed Diawara, an arrival that changes the situation

Behind the scenes, the arrival of Mohamed Diawara (6’8″, 20 years old), drafted late in the second round this year, accelerates the Knicks’ decision-making process. With already three French players in their roster (they previously had Pacôme Dadiet and Guerschon Yabusele, before adding Diawara), the New York franchise must now make a choice.

According to The Athletic, the return in a Pacôme Dadiet trade would likely not exceed a second-round pick, but some league executives believe he has higher value than other young players on the roster.
