Betclic ELITE relegated to 4th place by EuroHoops behind Greek league

EuroHoops, a Greek media outlet, placed the Stoiximan GBL (Greece) on the podium, behind Liga Endesa (Spain) and BSL (Turkey). Betclic ELITE thus loses one spot and finds itself 4th, despite having three EuroLeague clubs (Monaco, Paris, ASVEL), a finalist from the last edition (Monaco), packed arenas, roster depth, and wealth of young talent.

A very « patriotic » decision?
In its analysis, EuroHoops highlights the 20-million-euro TV deal over three years signed in Greece, guaranteeing around 700,000€ annually to each club, as well as the championship’s economic and structural growth. However, besides the powerful duo Panathinaikos – Olympiacos, the Greek championship’s depth remains far below that of Betclic ELITE, where underdogs manage to compete with bigger budgets.
France still among the best
While Spanish ACB remains untouchable, and Turkey benefits from the power of Fenerbahçe, Anadolu Efes or Besiktas Istanbul, France still establishes itself as Europe’s third league in terms of competitive depth. Beyond EuroLeague, the presence of numerous NBA prospects, modern infrastructure, and genuine popular momentum keeps Betclic ELITE at the top.
The National Basketball League (LNB) can therefore look confidently toward the future, even if this EuroHoops ranking mainly emphasizes the importance of TV contracts and economic considerations that are obviously essential in high-level sports.
