The American forward has signed a two-year deal, joining Darius Thompson and Alec Peters in the Italian champions’ major transfer campaign.
Jason Burnell is an American forward who played last season with Pallacanestro Brescia in Italy’s top division. After starting his college career at Georgia Southern, he transferred to St. Petersburg College, where he emerged as one of the best junior-college players in Florida, earning State Player of the Year honors. He then finished his NCAA career at Jacksonville State University, averaging 17.2 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists as a senior and earning First-Team All-OVC recognition.
Undrafted in 2019, Burnell began his professional career in Italy with Pallacanestro Cantù before moving to Dinamo Sassari, where he became known for his versatility, defense, and all-around production. He later played for New Basket Brindisi and joined Brescia in 2023. Throughout his career in Italy, Burnell has established himself as a reliable two-way forward capable of contributing in scoring, rebounding, playmaking, and defensive assignments.
Known for his energy, toughness, and positional versatility, Burnell has developed into one of the most respected American forwards in the Italian league, playing a key role for teams competing in both domestic and European competitions.
