Official: Julien Mahé signs three-year deal with Nanterre 92

Julien Mahé is the new face on the bench of Nanterre 92. After five seasons leading Saint-Quentin, which he brilliantly guided from the depths of Pro B to the Betclic ELITE playoffs and even to the BCL, the Breton coach was officially introduced this Tuesday, June 3rd at the Maurice Thorez Sports Palace. He has signed a three-year contract, until June 2028.

Julien Mahé, a builder to revive Nanterre
By choosing Julien Mahé to lead their new project, Nanterre 92 is betting on a coach known for his ability to build long-term and develop young talent. At Saint-Quentin, he took over a struggling team in 2020, before helping them climb every level: third place in Pro B, championship title in 2023, maintaining status then qualifying for Betclic ELITE playoffs, and finally participating in the BCL in 2024-2025.
This signing comes with changes in the sports organization: Karim Remil, Mahé’s right-hand man at Saint-Quentin, is expected to join him. Young Hugo Yimga-Moukouri (2.02m, 16 years old), a prospect trained at Nanterre who went through Pôle France, will return to the Hauts-de-Seine club.
At 42, Julien Mahé has climbed the French coaching ranks patiently: after starting at Chalon, then Dijon and Gravelines-Dunkerque, he had his first experience as head coach in Jeep ÉLITE with BCM in 2017-2018. However, it was at Saint-Quentin where he made his mark. He succeeds Philippe Da Silva, who in turn takes the reins of SQBB in a surprising game of musical chairs.
The choice of Julien Mahé confirms Nanterre’s ambition to rebuild around a sustainable project, rooted in youth development and collective progress.
