The Boston Celtics delivered an exceptional offensive performance Wednesday night in Miami, winning 147-129 against the Miami Heat in a game marked by a historic first quarter. With 53 points scored in the first twelve minutes, Boston set a new franchise record and tied the second-best total for a first quarter in NBA history.

A record first quarter led by Brown

Jaylen Brown set the tone by scoring the Celtics’ first 11 points, finishing the first quarter with 20 units – his best total in a quarter this season. Sam Hauser also shined with 17 perfect points, making all 6 of his shot attempts including 5 three-pointers.

« Going to the paint, going to the basket and finishing. I think that was the catalyst, » Brown explained after the game. The Celtics shot 71% and 73% from three-point range in this devastating first quarter, ending on a 32-9 run to take a 53-33 lead.

Coach Joe Mazzulla highlighted his team’s execution: « I think we executed pretty well. There are moments when you execute well and you get good shot after good shot. It just happens. Usually when you’re in moments like that and you start to feel it, you take bad shots. We didn’t do that. »

Tatum records his first triple-double of the season

Jaylen Brown finished the game with 43 points, his seventh game with over 40 points this season, tying Larry Bird for the fifth-highest total in a season in Celtics history. For his part, Jayson Tatum recorded his first triple-double of the season with 25 points, 18 rebounds and 11 assists.

Despite a Heat rally in the third quarter that cut the lead to just 9 points, the Celtics maintained their advantage. Sam Hauser added 23 points to the total, while Neemias Queta contributed with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

For Miami, Bam Adebayo led the charge with 29 points and 10 rebounds, helped by Davion Mitchell (21 points), Tyler Herro and Pelle Larsson (18 points each). The Heat tied a franchise record by making 24 three-pointers, but it wasn’t enough against the Celtics’ offensive efficiency.

This victory allows Boston (51-25) to consolidate second place in the East, while Miami (40-37) remains tenth in the play-in race. The Celtics will face Milwaukee on Friday, while the Heat will host Washington on Saturday.
