Nadir Hifi to NCAA? His agent dismisses this possibility

Nadir Hifi (1.85m, 22 years old) seems destined for the Roca Team. While his arrival in Monaco was widely reported in the media mid-April, an unexpected rumor emerged this Monday: according to Spanish journalist Gerard Solé, NCAA universities had made « economically very powerful » offers to the French-Algerian guard. This information was immediately contradicted by his agent.
Rumor dismissed by player’s entourage
Journalist Gerard Solé launched this information in a tweet published Monday, stating that « NCAA is knocking on Nadir Hifi’s door » and that the 22-year-old player (born in 2002) had « economically very powerful proposals » to join the American college championship next season.

This hypothesis was deemed far-fetched by his agent Olivier Mazet, contacted by BeBasket, who then expressed himself on Twitter: « Obviously… We’re talking about a EuroLeague player who has just been named Rising Star and is about to extend or sign a new contract! It doesn’t make any sense! »
This reaction reminds us that Nadir Hifi was named EuroLeague Rising Star this season, an award that recognizes promising young players in the competition. In this context, a hypothetical switch to American college basketball, typically reserved for players seeking visibility or development, indeed seems hardly credible. Especially since his move to Monaco to join a EuroLeague powerhouse seems imminent.

A future in EuroLeague rather than NCAA
With a successful season at Paris Basketball (15.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists in 38 EuroLeague games), Nadir Hifi continues to progress step by step. His presence in the Roca Team roster for 2025 is seen as a new turning point in his young career. At 22, the Alsatian is among the most coveted young French guards, and according to his entourage, going to NCAA never seemed to be a real option.
