An offensive explosion triggered by trash talk

Dončić’s reaction was swift. The Slovenian superstar responded with a true offensive demonstration, later admitting that this verbal exchange had contributed to triggering one of his best performances of the season.

« It’s always special. I obviously hadn’t scored 50 points in a year, so it was very special. In the second quarter, I kind of felt it. Someone started talking to me, so it woke me up », Dončić stated after the game.

The former Dallas Mavericks point guard did not wish to reveal exactly what Buzelis had said to him during this exchange, joking that repeating those words would probably earn him a technical foul. « I’d say I would definitely get a technical », Dončić said with a smile.
