Monaco ties it up: There will be a Game 5 in Paris!

While AS Monaco managed to even the Betclic ELITE playoff finals series against Paris Basketball, they lost their starting center. Mouhammadou Jaiteh (6’11 », 30) left the game injured at the start of the second half. After getting hurt during an offensive rebound play, the French international fell to the ground on the following action. Replaced by Vassilis Spanoulis, he didn’t return to the game. « I need to check with the medical staff, » his coach announced after the game, mentioning an injury « to the knee. »
With Daniel Theis already out of these finals due to a knee injury, AS Monaco now loses the only other center who has made an impact in this series. Even though the Roca Team got back in the series thanks to a strategy based on small-ball and switching on ball screens, Mam’ Jaiteh’s potential absence would be a major setback in their quest for the title on Tuesday, especially with Mike James already missing from this series, in addition to Theis.
