The Los Angeles Lakers continue their impressive streak with a 124-116 victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night. This seventh consecutive win perfectly illustrates the exceptional form of the California team, carried by the Luka Doncic – LeBron James duo.
An offensive duo seals the victory
Luka Doncic delivered a remarkable performance with 40 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds, missing a triple-double by just one rebound. Meanwhile, LeBron James was ruthlessly efficient, scoring 30 points on a remarkable 13-for-14 shooting, matching his career-best shooting performance. This same efficiency was previously achieved on February 4, 2013 in a Miami uniform against Charlotte.
The end of the game was decisive for the Lakers. Down by 4 points with 90 seconds remaining, they took control thanks to an alley-oop between Doncic and James. A turnover by Kevin Durant on the Rockets side allowed Doncic to seal the deal with a 3-pointer, extending the lead to 120-111 in the final minute.

Houston falters despite Sengun’s return
The Rockets showed character despite this defeat, their third in four games. Alperen Sengun, returning after missing two games with back problems, compiled 27 points and 10 assists. Amen Thompson supported him well with 26 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough against the Lakers’ efficiency.
Kevin Durant had a more difficult evening with only 2 points in the first half, finishing with 18 points and 6 rebounds. The fourth quarter was particularly contested, with several lead changes before the Lakers took control for good.
This historic performance by James also allows him to reach 12,000 career rebounds with his 5 boards of the evening, becoming the 23rd player in NBA history to reach this milestone. The Lakers thus confirm their excellent form with 10 wins in their last 11 games, establishing themselves as one of the hottest teams in this late regular season.
