Lucas Dufeal joined JAV two years ago on loan from Cholet, where he had just signed his first professional contract. Before that, Dufeal had already appeared ten times for Cholet in Betclic Elite. With Cholet, the Martinique native had notably won the Espoirs French Championship and the Future Trophy, averaging 14.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in his final U21 season.
Progress to be confirmed in Betclic Elite
In French basketball’s second tier, the U20 European champion has benefited from Vichy’s youth-focused environment. This has allowed him to continue his development and progression, leading to statistical dominance in certain areas. He is by far Pro B’s best shot blocker with 2.1 blocks per game, being the only player averaging over 2 blocks per game. He also adds 4.5 defensive rebounds per game, out of his 6.5 total rebounds.
Fifth-best in the league with a 16.5 efficiency rating, Lucas Dufeal will now look to confirm his emergence in Betclic ELITE. His loan in Auvergne is ending, but his move to the higher level should happen elsewhere, at Le Mans. In Sarthe, Lucas Dufeal would reunite with his former JAV coach, Guillaume Vizade, with whom he finished second last year. After Léopold Delaunay (6’4″, 23 years old) (also trained at Cholet), will Lucas Dufeal be the next to move from Vichy to Le Mans?
