The Los Angeles Lakers ended their three-game losing streak by dominating the Warriors 129-101 at Chase Center. A victory marked by a historic performance from LeBron James and a strong outing from Luka Doncic on his birthday.

LeBron James makes Lakers history

At 41 years old, LeBron James reached a new milestone by becoming the second player in Lakers history to reach the 1000 three-pointer mark with the franchise. He joins Kobe Bryant, who still holds the record with 1827 long-range shots.

The « King » made his first four three-point attempts in the first half, his best performance over a period this season. He finished the game with 22 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds in just 28 minutes, shooting 4-of-6 from deep. James now has 1002 three-pointers in a Lakers uniform, for a career total of 2618 makes.

Luka Dončić delivers on his 27th birthday

On his 27th birthday, Luka Dončić put on a show, particularly spectacular in the third quarter. The Slovenian scored 16 points in that period alone, making four consecutive three-pointers at the start of the second half to definitively bury the Warriors’ hopes.

Dončić finished with 26 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds in 29 minutes, shooting 9-of-17 from the field and 4-of-9 from three-point range. Austin Reaves also contributed with 18 points, allowing the Lakers (35-24) to bounce back after their difficult stretch following the NBA All-Star Break.

The Golden State Warriors (31-29), still without Stephen Curry (right knee) for the tenth consecutive game and Kristaps Porzingis (illness), never found an answer against the sharp-shooting Lakers (53% from the field, 46% from three-point range). Curry, interviewed during the game, confirmed that his return would take « a bit longer » than expected. The Lakers will face Sacramento on Sunday, while Golden State will host the LA Clippers on Monday.
