Lamar Odom arrested for drunk driving in Las Vegas

Former NBA champion Lamar Odom was arrested last Saturday in Las Vegas for suspicion of drunk driving, authorities announced Tuesday. The former Lakers player, aged 46, was apprehended on Interstate 15 near Harry Reid International Airport.

Multiple charges filed against the former champion

According to Nevada Highway Patrol Sergeant Shawn Haggstrom, Odom could face several charges, including driving under the influence, speeding, and failure to maintain lane. Clark County jail records indicate that the former basketball player was no longer in custody on Tuesday.

This is not Odom’s first arrest, as he was previously arrested for drunk driving in Los Angeles in 2013. That same year also marked his highly publicized marriage to Khloé Kardashian, a union that was the subject of a reality TV show before the couple divorced a few months later.

Lamar Odom had a remarkable 14-season NBA career, winning championships in 2009 and 2010 with the Los Angeles Lakers. He also wore the jerseys of the LA Clippers, Miami Heat, and Dallas Mavericks during his professional career.

In 2015, the former player made headlines after a serious medical incident during a stay in Nevada. This episode marked a particularly difficult period in his post-NBA life.

Attempts to obtain a comment from a sports agent representing Odom have remained unanswered. No information regarding his attorney has been released by authorities.
