The Los Angeles Lakers delivered a great performance by defeating the Toronto Raptors 110-93. This victory marks the Lakers’ second win in their last seven games, providing a confidence boost before a long road trip.
Luka Doncic led the Lakers’ attack with 25 points and 7 assists, making 5 three-pointers. The Slovenian guard, back after being rested during the previous loss, showed his full offensive efficiency. However, he picked up his 12th technical foul of the season, placing him second in the NBA in that category.
Deandre Ayton delivered a perfect performance, returning from his knee injury. The big man compiled 25 points and 13 rebounds with a remarkable 10 for 10 shooting, demonstrating formidable efficiency near the basket. LeBron James completed this offensive trio with 24 points and 7 assists, once again proving his endurance by playing another back-to-back.
The Raptors suffered their second consecutive loss despite the efforts of Scottie Barnes, who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Sandro Mamukelashvili added 20 points while former Laker Brandon Ingram contributed 19 points and 7 assists.
The turning point of the game came in the fourth quarter. While no team had taken a significant lead until then, the Lakers scored nine consecutive points, leaving Toronto scoreless for more than three minutes. This crucial sequence allowed the Californians to seal their victory.
The Raptors will face the Golden State Warriors on January 21, 2026, while the Lakers will travel to Denver on the same day. Los Angeles will look to capitalize on this positive momentum during the upcoming road trips, while Toronto will try to bounce back after these recent struggles.
