The New York Knicks narrowly avoided disaster Sunday night at Madison Square Garden. Facing a Warriors team decimated by injuries, Mike Brown’s squad had to wait until the final seconds to secure a 110-107 victory after trailing by 21 points in the first half.
Jalen Brunson carried his team with 30 points and 9 assists, posting his first 30-point performance in 12 games. Karl-Anthony Towns added a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while OG Anunoby and Jordan Clarkson each contributed 14 points.
Golden State Holds Strong Despite Full Injury List
The Warriors showed up with eight major players in the infirmary, notably Stephen Curry (out since January 30 with right knee soreness), Draymond Green, Kristaps Porzingis and De’Anthony Melton. This situation forced Steve Kerr to field his 34th different starting lineup of the season.
Despite this difficult context, Golden State dominated the first half thanks to a blistering 11-0 run late in the first quarter. Brandin Podziemski (25 points, 6 assists) and Gary Payton II (19 points) led the charge, allowing the Warriors to take a 54-45 lead into halftime.

Quinten Post delivered one of the best performances of his career with 22 points, 3 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Gui Santos shined with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Both young players kept the suspense alive until the final moments, with Post knocking down several key three-pointers in the fourth quarter.
A Thrilling Finish at Madison Square Garden
The turning point came in the third quarter, when Brunson sparked his teammates. After several consecutive baskets from the point guard, the Knicks slowly erased their deficit and moved ahead 83–80 heading into the final period.
The outcome remained undecided until the final seconds. Podziemski had a chance to put the Warriors in front with seven seconds left, but his drive missed the mark. Anunoby then sealed the win at the free-throw line (110–107), giving the Knicks their third straight victory.
This victory keeps New York (44-25) in the race for second place in the Eastern Conference, just one game behind the Boston Celtics. The Warriors (32-35) extended their losing streak to five games, their longest negative stretch of the season. Both teams will quickly return to the court: Golden State faces Washington on Monday, while the Knicks will host Indiana on Tuesday.
