The Sacramento Kings finally tasted victory again Monday night with a 123-114 win on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies. This victory ends a catastrophic 16-game losing streak, the longest in franchise history, as they hadn’t won since their victory against Washington on January 16.

Russell Westbrook led the charge with 25 points, including 10 in the decisive fourth quarter. The 18-year veteran was supported by Precious Achiuwa, who delivered a remarkable performance with 22 points and 12 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan and Daeqwon Plowden also contributed with 19 points each, with Plowden scoring 10 of his points in the final quarter.

Maxime Raynaud continues to impress among rookies

The evening was also marked by another solid performance from Maxime Raynaud. The French center recorded 10 points and 13 rebounds in 28 minutes, achieving his 11th double-double of the season. This performance allows him to surpass Derik Queen and become the rookie with the most double-doubles this season in the NBA.

Selected 42nd overall in the Draft, Raynaud has established himself as a true points and rebounds machine despite a difficult start to the season. His consistency now opens the door to a potential selection to an NBA All-Rookie Team.

The Kings took control of the game with an 18-6 run in the third quarter, before sealing their victory with a 10-0 run at the start of the fourth period. This victory, only their fourth on the road this season for Sacramento, marks their first road success since December 6, 2025 against Miami.

« We needed that, » declared Precious Achiuwa after the game. « It’s been a tough stretch for us these last few games. We played really well in a lot of those games, we just had the bad luck of not coming out with the win, but today we’re happy. »

Coach Doug Christie expressed relief: « Obviously, you don’t want that to be associated with your name. But there are times when I’m really proud of the way our guys continued to compete. » Despite the worst record in the NBA with 13 wins and 46 losses, the Kings can finally breathe and hope to regain positive momentum.
