Killian Hayes expected to return to the NBA during preseason camp

NBA - After declining an offer from ASVEL and receiving calls from several EuroLeague clubs, Killian Hayes preferred to turn down European opportunities to try securing a spot in the NBA for the 2025-2026 season.

After a 2024-2025 season split between mostly G-League and a few NBA appearances with the Brooklyn Nets, Killian Hayes (6’5″, 24 years old) attracted interest from several European clubs. ASVEL notably made him a good offer, but the Florida-born Cholet native declined to focus on getting an NBA contract this summer.

ASVEL rejected, Europe on hold

Some clubs wanted to replicate the path of his 2001 generation teammate Théo Maledon, who revived his career by returning to ASVEL. However, the Villeurbanne offer wasn’t enough to convince Hayes, who is determined to stay in the North American circuit.

While prestigious EuroLeague clubs like Real Madrid and Anadolu Efes made inquiries, no concrete steps followed. The former Detroit Pistons point guard seems to want to postpone a return to Europe. Or maybe never if he manages to permanently reestablish himself in the NBA.

Heading to NBA camp

Currently, Killian Hayes is focusing his efforts on securing an invitation to an NBA preseason camp. His profile as a passing point guard could still attract a franchise. However, the window of opportunity is narrowing as rosters become more stable.
