Courted by several major clubs after an impressive EuroBasket with Poland, Jordan Loyd (1.93m, 32) was initially reported to be close to joining Real Madrid. However, complications regarding his rights held by Valencia in Liga Endesa quickly slowed down discussions. Anadolu Efes then accelerated negotiations and reached an agreement with the player, who was under contract with Monaco until 2026.

According to our information, discussions were finalized on Friday, September 19. On Tuesday morning, the guard was still participating in Roca Team’s medical process, proving that nothing was settled yet.

A French colony in Istanbul

In Turkey, Jordan Loyd will join a strong French presence: Isaïa Cordinier, Brice Dessert, Rodrigue Beaubois and Vincent Poirier already form a solid base of the roster. Two-time EuroLeague champion (2021 and 2022), Anadolu Efes aims to become a serious Final Four contender again. With his experience gained at ASVEL, Valencia and especially Monaco, Jordan Loyd will bring scoring ability and European experience.

Three contrasting seasons in Monaco

Since arriving in Monaco in 2022, Jordan Loyd experienced both highs and lows. A back injury, along with an offensive hierarchy sometimes crowded by the density of Monaco’s backcourt, limited his impact. Nevertheless, he contributed to Roca Team’s development in line with their major European ambitions.
