Liberation has finally arrived for Coviran Granada. This Sunday, March 15th, 2026, the Andalusian side secured a home victory with a score of 92-79 against BAXI Manresa. A win that tastes like absolute deliverance, as it brings an end to a terrible streak of 15 consecutive defeats in the championship. While they remain last in the standings with 2 wins for 20 defeats, Granada’s players have earned themselves a well-deserved breath of fresh air.

A second-half surge seals the victory

The match truly turned in the second half. Although Manresa had taken a slight advantage after the first quarter (18-21), Granada managed to raise their offensive intensity after the break. The home team caught fire by scoring 57 points in the final 20 minutes (28 in the third quarter, 29 in the fourth) to definitively distance themselves from the Catalan formation, who sit 11th in the standings with a 9-13 record.

Several standout performances shaped this encounter. Croatian forward Luka Bozic delivered a titanic performance, recording a strong double-double with 20 points (shooting 6/10 from the field), 13 rebounds and 4 assists for an efficiency rating of 27. Amar Alibegovic proved highly effective off the bench, compiling 19 points on 8/12 shooting, accompanied by 2 rebounds for an efficiency rating of 22. Lluis Costa perfectly dictated the tempo with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

French players make their mark

This encounter also provided an opportunity to see several French representatives shine on Spanish courts. In the winners’ camp, veteran point guard Jonathan Rousselle provided valuable support, finishing with 12 points (including 3/8 from 3-points) and 2 rebounds in 23 minutes of play. Alongside him in the backcourt, Mehdy Ngouama proved useful during his 32 minutes on court, adding 7 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists.

On the opposing side, Manresa’s point guard Hugo Benitez delivered a very complete performance despite his team’s defeat, filling up the stat sheet with an impressive line of 11 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in just under 24 minutes. For the visitors, Alejandro Reyes was the most prominent performer with 19 points (7/13 from the field) and 5 rebounds.

Granada will attempt to make it two wins when they face Valencia on March 22nd, a very tough opponent, while Manresa will look to erase this misstep against Murcia in 5 days.
