Giorgi Bezhanishvili, former Gravelines-Dunkerque player, signs with AEK Larnaca

After playing in Betclic ELITE with BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque and then in Spain with Granada, Giorgi Bezhanishvili (2.06 m, 26 years old) joins AEK Larnaca, the reigning Cyprus championship title holder.
The Austrian-Georgian center spent the 2024-2025 season between France and Spain. With Gravelines-Dunkerque, he averaged 8.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 19 games before joining Granada in Liga Endesa, where he posted 5.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 12 games.
Already a rich and well-traveled career
After attending the University of Illinois (NCAA), Giorgi Bezhanishvili has already gained significant professional experience despite his young age. Since 2021, he has played in six countries across three continents: Canada (Bandits and Surge), France, Spain, Taiwan (Dreamers), G-League (Iowa Wolves, College Park SkyHawks, Grand Rapids Gold), and even NBA Summer League with the Indiana Pacers.
In 2023, he reached the CEBL (Canada) semifinals. At Larnaca, he will begin his fifth professional season with the goal of helping the club defend its national title and perform well in the FIBA Europe Cup.
