French youth national teams’ coaching staffs revealed for summer 2025

The FFBB has officially announced the complete list of technical staffs for the youth national teams that will participate this summer in six European Championships, two World Cups and the traditional Friendship Tournament. The diversity is evident with national coaches, state executives, regional advisors and professionals from the pro ranks.
Wide representation of French basketball
Once again this year, France will field teams in all youth categories, from U15 to U20, for both girls and boys. Several well-known figures from professional basketball and French player development have been renewed or integrated into these staffs.
On the women’s side, Yves Tekpli will lead the U15s at the Friendship Tournament and EYOF, Julien Egloff will coach the U16s at the Euros in Romania, while Vincent Bourdeau will coach the U18s in La Palma. Aurélie Bonnan takes charge of the U19s for the World Cup in Brno, with an extensive staff. Finally, Emmanuel Body will direct the U20s in Portugal.
On the men’s side, Stanislas Hacquard will oversee the youngest group (U15), Nicolas Absalon the U16s, and Élise Prodhomme the U18s. Ruddy Nelhomme continues his role with the U19s, joined notably by François Peronnet and David Hermine. Finally, Mickaël Hay will lead the U20s at the Euros in Heraklion with a very comprehensive staff.
Feminization, professionalization and continuity
As Jacques Commères, FFBB Performance Director, emphasized: « The composition of the staffs responds to several federal logics and objectives, particularly regarding feminization and openness to the professional world. »
The presence of experienced figures like Mickaël Hay or Ruddy Nelhomme is balanced by the integration of young technicians from regional leagues, as well as female profiles for male teams, such as Élise Prodhomme with the U18 boys.
The staff structure also shows a desire for continuity between the France training centers, professional clubs and federal development. From game analysts to physical trainers, all links in the high-level chain are represented, helping to develop the next generation of French talent.
